Industrial Refrigeration Supervisor – Data Center - Barcelona A well-established technical services company, recognized among the 100 best companies to work for in Spain, is reinforcing its technical team at a critical data center in Barcelona. This position will have a key role in overseeing the data center's cooling and HVAC systems, leading the technical team responsible for ensuring facility availability and efficiency.

You will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of industrial refrigeration, HVAC and HVAC systems, including chillers, CRAH/CRAC, hydraulic circuits and liquid cooling solutions such as DLC. At the same time, you will coordinate the team of refrigeration technicians and act as a technical reference for incidents and operational problems.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of the data center's cooling and HVAC systems.
- Lead and coordinate the team of industrial refrigeration and air conditioning technicians.
- Supervise preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Supervise equipment such as chillers, CRAH, CRAC, pumps, heat exchangers, air handling units and hydraulic systems.
- Supervise and maintain the refrigerated water circuits and systems associated with the distribution of cold.
- Participate in the operation and maintenance of Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) solutions and other refrigeration systems for high-density loads.
- Monitor critical parameters of temperature, pressure, flow, humidity and performance of HVAC systems.




- Act as an escalation point for technical incidents related to refrigeration, HVAC and air conditioning.
- Coordinate work with other MEP equipment, especially electrical, BMS, and general maintenance.
- Use and supervise BMS/SCADA systems for the monitoring and control of HVAC systems.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures, security standards, and data center availability requirements.
- Supervise suppliers and external companies during specialized maintenance work.
- Participate in the preparation and review of procedures, technical reports and maintenance documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotation, primarily through remote assistance and one-off site visits.

Requirements

- Technical training in Industrial Refrigeration, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, HVAC, Mechanics or an equivalent qualification.
- More than 5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration, HVAC, HVAC, or maintenance of critical facilities.
- Previous experience as a Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, Senior Engineer or Senior Technician.
- Solid knowledge of industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Experience working with chillers/chillers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, heat exchangers and chilled water circuits.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, temperature control and cold distribution.
- Experience with DLC (Direct Liquid Cooling), liquid cooling or cooling systems for high-density loads will be particularly valued.
- Experience using or supervising BMS/SCADA systems.
- Experience in critical environments such as data centers, hospitals, industrial plants, or mission-critical facilities.
- Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate external suppliers.
- Ability to make decisions with confidence in the face of technical incidents.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Vocational Training, Technical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent qualification in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Mechanics or Installations.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HVAC systems, industrial refrigeration or mechanical installations.
