At Hays, we are looking for a PHP- Symfony Software Developer to join an international technology company focused on smart mobility and connected transportation solutions. Through innovative software platforms and cloud-based technologies, the company helps make transportation safer, more efficient, and easier for millions of users worldwide while operating in a highly international and collaborative environment.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, architects, product specialists, and DevOps professionals, contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of cloud-based products delivered across multiple international markets.

What You Will Do

- Design and develop scalable software solutions supporting business-critical mobility platforms.
- Participate in technical architecture discussions and contribute to solution design documentation.
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP and Symfony.
- Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using React and contemporary frontend development practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support deployment, testing, monitoring, and production readiness activities.
- Troubleshoot application issues across development, staging, and production environments.
- Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to software quality through code reviews, testing strategies, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and support.
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support technical modernization initiatives, refactoring activities,



and reduction of technical debt.
- Share knowledge and contribute to a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.

What We Are Looking For

- 5+ years of professional experience developing enterprise applications with PHP and Symfony .
- Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs.
- Solid knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, SOLID principles , and clean code methodologies.
- Experience writing unit tests and integration tests for production-grade applications.
- Strong understanding of Hexagonal Architecture (Ports & Adapters) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to build scalable, maintainable, and testable applications.
- 3+ years of professional experience developing frontend applications using React .
- Hands-on experience with modern React development patterns, hooks, and state management solutions.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).
- Bachelor's, Master's degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline .
