About Visual Counter
Visual Counter designs and manufactures people-counting sensors for retail and transport. Our customers include major retail chains and rolling-stock manufacturers in Europe and the United States. We develop our own hardware and firmware and work with an international supply chain: semiconductors, PCB assembly (EMS) and electronic components sourced from Europe, the US and China.
Purpose of the role To secure the supply of components and manufacturing services on time, on cost and to quality standards, managing relationships with domestic and international suppliers and maintaining rigorous control of orders, inventory and documentation.
Responsibilities
· End-to-end management of the procurement cycle: requests for quotation, negotiation, issuing and tracking of orders, goods receipt and invoice approval.
· Management of domestic and foreign suppliers (Europe, the US and China): evaluation, approval, performance monitoring and issue resolution.
· Purchasing of electronic components (semiconductors, PCBs, EMS assembly, memory, cabling, mechanical parts) and manufacturing services.
· Supply planning in coordination with Production and Engineering: demand forecasts, stock levels, lead times and obsolescence or single-source risks.
· Document control: contracts, commercial terms, certificates, component datasheets, batch traceability.
· Import management: incoterms, duties, customs documentation and coordination with freight forwarders.
· Maintenance of the item and supplier master data in the management system.
· Tracking of procurement KPIs:
on-time delivery, cost variances, supplier quality.
· Support to Engineering in introducing new components and sourcing alternatives.
Requirements
Essential
· Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement, preferably of electronic components or in industrial or manufacturing environments.
· Very high level of English (C1 or above), spoken and written. Much of the communication with suppliers is in English.
· Spanish at a professional level
· Exceptional attention to detail: rigour with quantities, part numbers, component revisions, terms and documentation.
· Demonstrable experience managing domestic and international suppliers.
· Advanced command of Excel.
· Strong organisational skills and autonomy, compatible with a part-time commitment.
Desirable
· Experience with EMS suppliers and semiconductor manufacturers.
· Knowledge of international trade (imports from Switzerland, the US and China, incoterms, customs).
· Familiarity with ERP or supply planning tools.
· Education in Engineering, Business Administration or similar.
· Experience in SMEs or growing companies.
