About Newland NPT

Newland NPT is a fast-growing global payment technology company with operations across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, North America, and Asia-Pacific.

Our Spanish subsidiary acts as a regional hub supporting Newland NPT’s continued growth across Europe. We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager – Europe to lead financial, tax and statutory compliance across several European jurisdictions.

The role will work closely with our finance teams in China and Europe, as well as with external accounting, tax and audit partners.

Key Responsibilities

European Finance and Tax Compliance

- Take ownership of finance, accounting, tax and statutory compliance for Spain, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and other European jurisdictions as required.
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly and year-end accounting closings with local accounting providers and external auditors.
- Review VAT, corporate income tax, Intrastat and other statutory or regulatory filings.
- Liaise with tax authorities, customs offices, auditors, tax advisers and other external institutions.
- Monitor changes in European accounting and tax regulations, assessing risks and recommending appropriate actions.
- Support Spanish corporate income tax planning and R&D; tax-credit matters in collaboration with external advisers.
- Ensure accurate local accounting treatment and compliant invoicing across different business scenarios.

Business and Operational Support
- Provide finance and compliance support to European sales and operations teams.
- Support import/export transactions,



cross-border trading arrangements and new market expansion.
- Contribute to profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting and business decision-making.
- Review employee expenses and operational expenditure from a compliance and internal-control perspective.
- Support improvements to regional finance workflows and systems.

Regional Coordination
- Work closely with HQ Finance, European teams and China-based finance colleagues.
- Support intercompany transactions, transfer-pricing documentation and group reporting.
- Lead the implementation of finance and compliance processes for new European entities and VAT registrations.
- Provide mutual back-up support to other finance colleagues when required.
- Participate in regional and global finance projects.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- At least 5+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Spanish accounting, taxation and statutory compliance.
- Familiarity with the tax and accounting requirements of other European jurisdictions—particularly Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland or the UK—would be highly valued.
- Experience with import/export activities, cross-border transactions and multinational business environments.




- Solid understanding of VAT, customs requirements and international trade.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese, English and Spanish, as all three languages will be used daily for business communication and formal dealings with authorities and external service providers.
- Proven ability to work effectively with tax authorities, customs offices, external accounting firms, tax advisers and auditors.
- Strong coordination, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a fast-growing multinational company.
- Experience managing outsourced accounting firms, tax advisers and external auditors across multiple European markets.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation reporting.
- Previous responsibility for multiple European legal entities and cross-border VAT registrations.
- A professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or equivalent would be an advantage.
