STEM Teacher – Python & Robotics
Location: Madrid, primarily in La Moraleja
Hours: Approximately 20 paid hours per week, with additional hours available after training
Schedule: 12:30–17:30 in person, plus some remote hours
Pay: €18 gross per paid hour
Start date: October–November 2026 preferred

About CodingSTEAM
CodingSTEAM provides small-group Coding and Robotics classes for children and teenagers in partner schools across Madrid. We are looking for a STEM Teacher to join our team and support both teaching and day-to-day programme coordination.
Responsibilities
Teaching
- Teach Python and Robotics to small groups of approximately 3–4 students
- Adapt lessons to different ages, abilities and levels of experience
- Help students understand, test and debug their own code
- Support students with project-based work and encourage independent problem-solving
- Prepare for sessions and complete brief session notes
- Teach Python topics ranging from programming fundamentals to games, object-oriented programming and larger projects
- Teach Robotics using equipment such as mBot and Edison
Previous experience with mBot or Edison is not required; training will be provided. Classes typically last 30–45 minutes and are scheduled and paid as full hourly blocks. You will also receive training and shadow another mentor before taking responsibility for your own groups.
Programme Coordination
- Communicate with school contacts regarding schedules and routine teaching arrangements
- Keep student, group and timetable information up to date
- Help manage absences, make-up sessions and schedule changes
- Follow up on equipment or technical issues
- Review session notes and student reports
- Support other mentors
Required Qualifications
- Strong Python fundamentals
- Confidence reading and debugging unfamiliar code
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to children and teenagers
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Reliability and availability throughout the school year
- Confidence learning and troubleshooting technology
- Interest in teaching and working with young people
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience
- Degree or background in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Robotics experience
- Spanish language skills
- Experience coordinating educational programmes or supporting colleagues
Once hired, you will need to complete the safeguarding checks required for regular work with minors in Spain, including the relevant background check.
