At SATLANTIS, we design advanced space technologies to address general challenges from orbit. Our satellites are engineered to perform in demanding environments, where reliability, robustness, and performance are essential to mission success.
As a Test Engineer, you will play a key role in validating the mechanical and environmental performance of our products, ensuring that payloads and systems can withstand the demanding conditions encountered during launch and operation in space.
What’s in it for you
- Direct impact on space missions: Your work will contribute to validating the robustness and reliability of hardware designed for real space missions.
- Flexible working hours: Because balance and trust are part of how we work.
- Young, dynamic environment: Join a proactive team where autonomy, innovation, and collaboration drive our daily routine.
- Private health insurance: Your wellbeing comes first, with comprehensive coverage.
- Campus perks: Discounts at restaurants and gym on the UPV/EHU campus, plus fresh fruit, great coffee, and a motivating work atmosphere.
Your mission
Your mission will be to ensure that SATLANTIS products meet the required mechanical and environmental performance throughout their development and qualification.
By planning and executing environmental tests, monitoring test activities, analyzing results, and collaborating with engineering teams, you will help ensure that our payloads and systems are ready to withstand the demanding conditions of launch and space operations.
You will:
- Plan, prepare, and execute vibration, shock, and thermal tests, including sine, random, and combined environmental testing.
- Develop test plans, procedures, and instrumentation setups in alignment with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Monitor and control test execution, ensuring accurate data acquisition, reliable results, and safe operation.
- Analyze test data, generate technical reports, and communicate results, conclusions,
and recommendations to relevant project teams.
- Collaborate with design and structural engineers to identify potential issues and support product design improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements during all test operations.
- Support the continuous improvement of test processes, equipment calibration, and laboratory infrastructure.
- Prepare, handle, and secure payloads and test articles for transportation and testing activities.
- Transport payloads, test articles, and related equipment to and from testing facilities.
What will set you up for success?
- A strong engineering foundation: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar field will provide the technical foundation required for the role.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities: The ability to identify root causes, investigate anomalies, and develop effective technical solutions during testing activities.
- Technical writing and documentation skills: Ability to prepare clear, structured, and accurate test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation.
- Communication skills: Fluent Spanish, as the working language, and technical English for documentation, testing activities, and collaboration with international teams.
- Adaptability and responsiveness: Comfort working in dynamic environments, responding effectively to unexpected test conditions or anomalies, and availability for occasional travel and overnight stays when required by project or testing activities.
- Experience in vibration and thermal testing: Previous experience with vibration and thermal testing activities is considered a plus.
