We are looking for an
AWS Cloud Engineer
to work on our IoT and Data Platform projects. Depending on the project, you may work with scripts and small programs for stream processing, build APIs and backends, or process data using Spark and other technologies.
You will probably learn a lot of new things along the way. We use the AWS IoT suite, MQTT, Kafka, plenty of Lambdas, ECS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, relational databases, Terraform, CloudFormation… The only thing that really matters to us is that you are passionate about
Python, data, and tinkering with technology . 100% of the GALEO team uses Python in their day-to-day work; it is already part of the common stack across our data engineers, data scientists, IoT engineers, systems engineers, web developers, and more.
What you’ll do day to day
Software development and data pipelines
using advanced Python to build robust applications and workflows.
Design and implementation of
serverless and event-driven architectures , making extensive use of AWS Lambda.
Implementation and management of container-based services (Amazon ECS,
Fargate).
Deployment of components using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Gathering requirements, working directly with clients, and designing tailored cloud solutions.
Key Requirements
More than 3 years of hands‑on experience in
Python development , writing modular, scalable, and clean code.
Strong knowledge of the AWS ecosystem, especially
serverless architectures
(AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, ECS, DynamoDB).
Solid SQL knowledge.
Experience designing and operating Data Lakes on AWS (S3, AWS Glue, Athena, Lake Formation).
You have extensive experience with the AWS IoT stack —
IoT Core, IoT SiteWise .
You have experience with streaming data processing using
Apache Flink .
You have knowledge of workflow orchestration using
Airflow .
You have experience building APIs with
API Gateway .
You have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
