We're recruiting a Community Support Worker to join our team in Handsworth on a permanent basis, working 4 hours a week across two 2-hour shifts. You'll support someone who's naturally sociable and enjoys a bit of friendly competition, whether that's over a board game or getting back out to activities they used to love, helping them build confidence and reconnect with their local community. Pay is 13.00 per hour.
This role is open to female applicants only, as a Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Previous experience in a similar support role is essential, along with a genuinely person-centred approach to care. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance are also essential , as travel is part of the role. Cooking skills would be a bonus, though not essential.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a similar support role
- Warm, patient and encouraging
- Person-centred in their approach to care
- A confident driver with access to their own vehicle
This role might include supporting someone with:
- Daily activities and routines at home
- Building confidence to get out and about in the community
- Hobbies and shared activities that build connection
- Working towards personal goals around independence
