The candidate is responsible for supporting engine testing activities by ensuring proper instrumentation, accurate test execution and high‑quality analysis of experimental data. The position contributes directly to the reliability of test results and to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies.
Key objectives and major responsibilities
- Preparation and verification of engine instrumentation, ensuring correct setup and compliance with testing standards;
- Support and coordination of engine installation on the test bench, working closely with technical teams;
- Definition and execution (occasionally include the operational management in an autonomous way of the HIL, Hydraulic Rig and PUMA Console) of test activities, in alignment with established test methodologies and procedures;
- Analysis of experimental data, identifying trends, anomalies and performance indicators;
- Preparation of detailed test reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy and traceability of results;
- Presentation of test outcomes during dedicated technical meetings and reviews
Educational background
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Technical skills
- Engine mechanical fundamentals,
with solid understanding of base engine architecture and components;
- Strong knowledge of Diesel combustion processes, including key parameters influencing performance and emissions;
- Awareness of Diesel calibration workflows, methodologies, and validation steps;
- Good understanding of aftertreatment systems, including SCR, DOC, and DPF functionalities;
- Minimum two years of experience in DPF calibration, including:Soot accumulation and oxidation models;
- Regeneration strategies and monitoring;
- Oil dilution mechanisms and mitigation approaches.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to prepare and present technical documentation;
- Ability to manage interactions with internal and external testing facilities during test preparation and execution;
- Hands‑on experience with specialized software tools, including Office Suite, Concerto, INCA, and indicating systems;
- Knowledge of analysis and modelling toolls
