REVOLVE is looking for an experienced communications professional to join us as a freelance collaborator on a portfolio of new EU-funded projects. Working alongside our Communications Manager, Project Managers and peer communications officers, you will co-lead the communication strategy for three new projects and take care of the day-to-day work that brings it to life: social media, newsletters, content creation and website management support. It is a role for someone who can write the plan and then execute it.
Type
Part-time freelance/consultant, 20–30h per week
Location
Remote, from anywhere in Europe. Preferably within the CET time zone.
Your activities
- Co-lead the projects' Communication and Dissemination Plans: objectives, audiences, key messages, channels and KPIs
- Define the overall content strategy: narrative, tone of voice, formats and content mapped to project milestones
- Map and categorise key stakeholders (scientific community, policymakers, industry, media, general public) and translate that into strategic choices
- Launch, grow and consolidate the projects' social media channels: content pillars, editorial calendar, posting rhythm and performance review
- Produce content across channels, including newsletters, web copy and project storytelling
- Support website launches (content structure, sitemap, editorial requirements) and act as editorial owner once live, coordinating with our web developer
- Brief and coordinate our graphic designer on visual identity, ensuring EU branding compliance
- Prepare communication materials and partner guidelines for kick-off events
- Keep workflows and messaging aligned across consortium partners, with regular check-ins with the comms and project leads
Our adecuado candidate A self-starting communicator who is equally comfortable shaping strategy and getting hands-on with a posting calendar: creative, analytical, organised, proactive, and passionate about sustainability and communications. You enjoy turning technical or scientific material into clear, engaging stories for very different audiences, and you know how EU-funded consortia work. You are organised enough to juggle several projects at once, proactive in flagging what needs deciding, and a reliable point of contact for colleagues across countries and institutions. Curiosity about sustainability, energy, climate or water topics is a real plus.
Your qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in communications, preferably in EU, international, or sustainability contexts
- Experience producing web and social media content and using analytics tools
- Experience translating complex information into accessible content
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages an asset
- Comfortable working autonomously with distributed teams
What we offer
- A freelance collaboration at 22 €/h, 20–30h per week, with monthly invoicing
- Flexible hours and remote work environment, with some travel within Europe depending on project needs.
- Duration: Project-based
- Involvement in three new EU-funded projects from the kick-off phase, with real ownership of the communication strategy
- A small, international and mission-driven team working at the intersection of sustainability, media and research
- Scope to shape how communications are done across the projects, rather than executing someone else's plan
