Why this job exists

Every year, more people study, get certified, and take their exams online. For those credentials to count for as much as the ones earned in a classroom, somebody has to make sure the exam was fair.

That is what we have done at Smowltech since 2012 with SMOWL, our proctoring solution. More than 350 institutions work with us today.

Now we need someone to tell that story in English. Someone who can take a technical subject like academic integrity, AI, and online assessment, and turn it into content that university leaders and corporate training managers actually want to read, watch, and pass along.

What you will do

- Own the English editorial calendar. You plan, write, and publish across the blog, LinkedIn, YouTube, and email, all tied to our demand generation goals.
- Write for search and for AI answer engines (SEO and AEO/GEO): search intent, clean structure, original data, and sources worth citing.
- Run our weekly English LinkedIn newsletter start to finish. It is yours.
- Produce multimedia: scripts and pieces for YouTube, carousels, and social formats.
- Adapt content across markets by transcreation, not word-for-word translation, alongside the rest of the content team.
- Coordinate link building and digital PR campaigns with outside partners, and review every piece before it goes live.
- Turn real customer stories into case studies, interviews, and material that Sales and Customer Success can put to work.
- Measure, then decide: rankings, organic traffic, engagement, and how content shows up in leads and MQLs. You bring what you learn to our weekly marketing review.
- Use AI tools as part of your workflow for research, drafts, and quality checks, always with your own editorial judgment and a human review at the end.
- Keep the brand steady: our brandbook, our official English naming, and content that is accessible to everyone (WCAG AA).

How we will know it is working

- At 30 days. You know SMOWL, the brandbook, and our naming conventions, and your first pieces are live.
- At 90 days. The English editorial calendar is yours,

and you have brought us a content plan with a business case behind it.
- At 6 months. Organic traffic is growing steadily in your markets, and we can see content showing up in the MQL numbers.

What we need from you

- Native or equivalent (C2) English, and the ability to write for a U.S. audience.
- Two or more years creating content for brands or publications, with a portfolio of English pieces you wrote yourself.
- Real SEO experience. You work in Google Search Console regularly, plus a suite like Semrush or Ahrefs.
- Comfort in WordPress. You can publish and lay out a page without waiting on anyone.
- An eye for numbers. You read performance data and change the plan when it tells you to.
- Independence. Hand you a goal and the guardrails, and you work out the route yourself.
- A real team player. You coordinate with other departments, and you both give and take feedback on the work.

We do not ask for a specific degree. If your background is something else and your work speaks for itself, apply anyway.

Nice to have

- Experience in B2B SaaS, EdTech, or higher education.
- Direct response copywriting and a working knowledge of CRO.
- Video: scripting, shooting, or editing.
- Digital PR and link building.
- Advanced use of generative AI for content, with editorial control.
- Familiarity with digital accessibility (WCAG).

What we offer

- Competitive pay, based on your background and experience.
- Full time, with flexible start and finish times.
- Work the way that suits you: on-site, hybrid, or fully remote. Our office is in Donostia-San Sebastián.
- Room to grow: a career path for specialists and for future leaders, plus training built around your role.
- An international team, working across several markets and languages every day.
- Work that matters: your content helps make online education more trustworthy and easier to reach.

Who we are

Smowltech started in 2012 with one mission: to build trust in the digital world.

Online education keeps growing, and a familiar problem has grown with it.

Teachers and evaluators do not always trust what is happening on the other side of the screen. How do you keep people from cheating? How do you confirm that the person who sat the exam is who they say they are, or that they really picked up the skills the course promised?

That is why we built SMOWL, a system for authenticating and continuously monitoring users online through multibiometrics. We help universities, business schools, and corporate certification programs stand behind the quality of their online assessments.

Who are the Smowlers?

Smowlers are the people who make this happen, and they are the heart of the company. They turn Smowltech into something real, make a global impact, and build the future of education.

We are a growing company with happy, motivated people, working on a product that matters in a fast-moving environment. Six values keep us pointed the same direction. We call them the 3BDAS:

- Be positive: Practice positivity. Look for solutions, expect good results and success. Acknowledge bad results or experiences, learn from them, do better.
- Be collaborative: Constructively explore ideas with others to search for solutions that extend one's limited vision. Communicate, visualize, and acknowledge.
- Build trust: Be honest and supportive, actively listen, stay consistent, collaborate across teams and functions, and take responsibility for your acts and words.
- Dare to commit: Decide to show up fully and consistently while seeing things to their logical or necessary conclusion. Make things work.
- Always go beyond your limits: Through self-awareness, curiosity, and initiative. With determination, discipline, and DOING.
- Stay agile: Adapt and evolve quickly in response to changing circumstances so that we deliver our service on time, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Our social impact

Our work lines up with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 4. Quality Education and 13. Climate Action, and we track it with real numbers:

- Strengthening the quality of online training: people who have earned a degree or a professional certification with SMOWL behind the exam.
- Opening up higher education and corporate training: people with disabilities, people with limited time or money, and people a long way from the nearest training center, who were able to take their exams remotely thanks to SMOWL.
- Cutting the environmental cost of traveling to campuses and offices: CO₂ emissions avoided through remote exams.
