About The Role
As an Electrical & Controls Project Engineer, you play a critical role in the design, development, manufacturing, and commissioning of advanced electrical and automation control systems being part of the new generation of automated rides designed by ABC Rides, as well as in providing technical support during the project warranty phase, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Working primarily with PLCs and industrial PC platforms, you collaborate closely with clients, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high‑quality, robust automation solutions.
What You’ll Do In this role, you will:
- Specify main electrical equipment and control hardware
- Design electrical and control system architectures, including PLC hardware layouts, I/O allocation, network topology…
- Develop, maintain, and review electrical control system documentation, including functional descriptions, software structures, specifications, and system architectures.
- Produce electrical wiring schematics
- Program PLCs and safety PLCs
- Integration of PLC code with monitoring systems (HMI)
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and applicable design regulations.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering team to ensure seamless system integration and overall performance.
- Act as a technical interface with clients and suppliers to clarify requirements and resolve technical challenges.
- Lead all the design reviews along the project execution to move ahead on the different project’s gate reviews and phases, from concept design until validation and certification phases.
- Support the manufacturing team and resolve technical issues.
- Perform hands-on testing: building test setups, connecting, and configuring equipment, developing test benches tests and substitution tools when system equipment is not available, and validating hardware/software integration.
- Produce test procedures and test reports
- Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Lead on‑site electrical and controls installation and commissioning activities (SAT) and troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during start‑up and ramp‑up phases.
- Lead certification activities with the certification body in charge of the project.
- Generate customer manuals and technical documentation.
- Deliver system training to operations and maintenance teams, including functional use and troubleshooting.
- Monitor system performance during commercial operation, analyze incidents, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering standards, processes, and quality assurance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (electronics, computer engineering, or a related field).
- Solid knowledge of electrical and control systems.
- Experience in systems integration engineering (motors, batteries, electronics, PLCs, HMIs, sensors…)
- Experience designing control system architectures.
- Hands-on experience on programming with PLC controlled systems, including safety designs, motor control, and industrial communication and networking.
- Hands-on experience with network and communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Profinet/ProfiSafe, Ethernet/ADS...
- Hands-on experience in designing and coding safety systems/functions compliant with EN ISO 13849 using Safety PLCs.
- Hands-on experience in Beckhoff PLCs and Safety PLCs.
- Hands-on experience designing electrical schematics.
- Proven experience in test bench, factory and site validation, including troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in control systems certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive communication & decision making. Team-oriented mindset. Proactive team building spirit. Fluent English language (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for commissioning and customer support.
