Organizational context: The International Organization for Migration (IOM), established in 1951, is the UN agency for migration. It collaborates with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners, committed to the principle that human and orderly migration benefits migrants and society. The IOM addresses migration management challenges, advances understanding of migration issues, fosters socio-economic development through migration, and defends the human dignity and well-being of migrants.

Job purpose: This role operates under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the Labour Migration and Social Inclusion Officer. The Data Analyst will be responsible for compiling, consolidating, validating, managing, and maintaining databases related to projects and activities within the Labour Migration and Social Inclusion Area of IOM Spain. This involves supporting the definition of data collection requirements, preparing survey models, and managing and analyzing data according to operational and programmatic needs. The position also supports the updating and maintenance of databases for monitoring migration flows, ensuring data quality, integrity, accessibility, and comprehension. The analyst will process, analyze, and interpret quantitative data from surveys targeting migrant populations, contributing to descriptive and analytical reports.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include assisting in the compilation, consolidation, validation, management, and maintenance of databases for the Labour Migration and Social Inclusion Area. The role supports defining data collection requirements, preparing survey models, and managing/analyzing data. This involves updating migration flow monitoring databases, ensuring data quality and accessibility. The Data Analyst will process, analyze,



and interpret quantitative data using tools like Kobo Toolbox, and contribute to reports integrating quantitative and qualitative findings. Technical support to survey teams, data analysis, and creating infographics, fact sheets, and presentations are also key duties. Advanced data analysis, producing visualizations, and coordinating with other IOM offices for data harmonization are expected. Training support and participation in relevant meetings are also part of the role.

Education: A Bachelor's degree, Master's, or specialization in data analysis, statistics, or applied data science with at least 1 year of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, a high school diploma or vocational training with at least 3 years of relevant experience is acceptable.

Work experience: Required experience includes demonstrated expertise in statistics, data analysis, scoring, survey methodologies, and data-driven reporting and visualization. Proven experience in compiling, consolidating, and administering multiple databases, preferably in social themes, is essential. Proficiency in statistical analysis and programming software such as R, Stata, SAS, SPSS, or Python is necessary. Advanced MS Office skills are required, with Access being a plus. Experience in social sciences data analysis and the migration field is desirable.
