Job DescriptionData Governance Analyst ChesterSalary: DOEShortList is looking for an experienced Data Governance Analyst to play a pivotal role in the Cyber team for our established NW client.The Data Governance Analyst will play a key role in protecting corporate data and report directly into the Head of Cyber Security. The role is fundamentally responsible for ensuring data is correctly identified, classified, retained, and secured. You will also be overseeing the compliance with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.The Data Governance Analyst will primarily work with Microsoft Purview, so experience with this platform is essential. You’ll work closely with teams across the business to embed effective data governance practices and ensure data is managed securely and consistently.This Data Governance Analyst role is based just outside of Chester and requires 2 days per week on site.Key requirements for the Data Governance Analyst roleSolid knowledge of data governance fundamentals, including data retention, classification,



and security controlsKnowledge of Microsoft PurviewExperience creating and maintaining clear, accurate documentation and reportingStrong attention to detail with excellent organisational skillsUnderstanding of data protection and privacy legislationExperience designing and implementing data governance policies and processesProven ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teamsRelevant certifications such as CIPM, CIPP/E, or equivalent data governance qualificationsThe Data Governance Analyst role comes with a range of industry-leading benefits and a competitive salary depending on experience.The role is based near Chester and offers hybrid working.
