IT Infrastructure Engineer - Fareham

The Role
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving the organisation's core IT infrastructure services. The role provides technical support across on-premises VMware environments, backup and recovery platforms, server infrastructure, networking, wireless services, Microsoft Azure, and selected Microsoft 365 and SharePoint services. The post holder will help ensure that infrastructure services remain secure, reliable, available,



and appropriately documented across both on-premises and cloud-based environments.
This role is based out of Fareham, with occasional travel to other Saab locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support for on-premises VMware environments, including virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage connectivity, and associated management platforms.
- Monitor and maintain server, storage, network, wireless, cloud, and infrastructure services to support availability, performance, resilience, and security.
- Assist with the administration and support of Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, identity-related services, monitoring, and backup services where applicable.
- Administer and support backup and recovery services, including monitoring backup jobs, investigating failures, supporting restore activity, and assisting with routine recovery test
