We are looking for a Junior Customer Development Manager (CDM) responsible for ensuring day‑to‑day execution and supporting negotiation with our key customers for each of our brands, maintaining a long-term partnership with them and maximizing sales opportunities.
- Builds strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Supports the area in achieving the Company’s sales, volume and distribution goals with key customers.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of annual business plans for all key customers, in line with Company Strategy, to drive profitable growth, increase sales, volumes, distribution and market share.
- Provides deep analysis of performance trends and monitors KPIs in order to define and implement effective action plans to improve performance.
- Understands customer needs and dynamics to recommend business solutions that grow the category and Hill’s brands.
- Provides regular coverage of stores to understand in‑store business dynamics, identify opportunities and ensure Perfect Store execution.
Key Functions
1. Customer Relationship
- Support the management of day‑to‑day relationships with key customers, becoming a trusted contact for operational topics.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship of national and regional key accounts, acting as the primary contact.
- Lead negotiations with your customers within agreed guidelines, in close alignment with the Senior CDT Lead.
- Support the definition and implementation of Customer Strategic Commercial Plans and annual joint business plans with each key and regional account, ensuring alignment with Hill’s category and brand strategies.
- Deeply understand each customer’s strategy, organization, decision-making process and priorities to bring customer-centric,
win–win solutions that strengthen the partnership and drive growth.
- Identify new business opportunities and propose action plans to capture them.
2. Business Performance & Analytics
- Be accountable, together with the Senior CDT Lead for delivering net sales, volume, distribution, share and profitability targets for the assigned accounts.
- Consolidate and analyze sell-in, sell-out and market data to understand performance drivers, trends, risks and opportunities by customer.
- Prepare customer-specific performance reports, dashboards and scorecards to support internal reviews and customer business meetings.
- Monitor key customer KPIs and recommend data-driven actions to close gaps and accelerate growth.
- Conduct evaluations, drawing clear conclusions and recommendations to optimize promotional strategy and trade investments.
3. Customer Planning & In‑Store Execution
- Translate brand and category strategies into 5Ps plans tailored to each customer, in collaboration with ODG Activation Manager.
- Build and manage the promo and activation calendar for their clients, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines, profitability thresholds and customer timelines.
- Negotiate and secure in‑store visibility that supports Hill’s growth priorities.
- Provide regular store coverage across customers:
- Check planogram and assortment compliance
- Assess shelf presence, pricing and POS execution
- Identify execution gaps and regional opportunities
- Monitor competitor activity and shopper behavior in different regions
- Work closely with the ODG Activation Manager to ensure that Perfect Store standards are implemented consistently in customers’ stores.
4. Forecasting, Supply Chain Alignment & Internal Execution
- Own the input into Atlas forecast, ensuring that promotions, events, distribution changes and major initiatives are accurately reflected.
- Maintain and update customer plans and agreements in internal systems in line with Monthly Discipline and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with CS&L; in promotions, new listings, delistings, roll-outs to secure availability and minimize out-of-stocks.
- Partner with CS&L; to monitor case fill,
service level and on-shelf availability, supporting the definition and follow-up of corrective actions when needed.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with other functions (ODG Marketing, Finance, CS&L;) to design and deliver integrated customer plans .
- Lead or support the preparation and follow-up of customer business reviews, joint planning sessions, commercial negotiations and top-to-top meetings .
- Share customer and shopper insights to refine assortment, pricing, promotion strategy and in‑store activation plans.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of account management tools, processes and reporting, sharing best practices from your customers with the broader Customer Development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering or any related field. Master’s Degree will be considered a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in commercial roles (Sales / Trade Marketing / Category Management within FMCG or Consumer Healthcare). Experience with pet care or pet specialty customers is a plus.
- Previous experience interacting with retail customers.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to work with multiple data sources.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Google Workspace.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluent Spanish (written and spoken); Advanced English (written and spoken).
