Lead Planner – Construction - Badajoz A leading general AI infrastructure company is expanding its next-generation, renewable-powered data center portfolio in Spain and is looking for an experienced Planning Lead to take ownership of project planning and scheduling across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

This is a key project controls position where you will own the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), coordinate multiple contractor programmes, monitor physical progress and identify critical-path risks. You will have significant influence over how major construction packages are sequenced, delivered and recovered when projects move away from baseline.

The role also offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of construction planning and CAPEX management, translating programme milestones, procurement activity and physical progress into reliable investment phasing and cash flow forecasts. Based in Badajoz, you will work closely with Construction, Project Management, Procurement, Cost Control, Finance and Commissioning teams within a large-scale data center environment.

- Integrate and challenge contractor and vendor schedules across CSA, Electrical, Mechanical, BMS, Security, Power Infrastructure, utilities and other project packages.
- Monitor physical progress against the approved baseline and ensure consistent progress measurement across contractors and work packages.
- Perform critical path,

schedule variance and delay analysis, identifying constraints, dependencies, milestone risks and potential impacts on completion dates.
- Develop mitigation and recovery plans with Construction, Project Management and contractors where progress deviates from approved milestones.
- Coordinate short- and medium-term construction planning, including look-ahead schedules, sequencing, interfaces and upcoming constraints.
- Translate construction schedules, procurement milestones, equipment deliveries and physical progress into reliable CAPEX phasing assumptions
- Provide schedule-driven inputs to Cost Control and Finance for CAPEX and cash flow forecasting, highlighting changes in project timing that could affect expenditure.
- Integrate procurement and long-lead equipment activities, including engineering, manufacturing, FAT, logistics, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Integrate energisation, commissioning and handover milestones into the overall project programme, maintaining visibility of dependencies affecting data center readiness.
- Support change management and schedule impact assessments relating to scope changes, variations, delays, procurement issues and other project events.
- Prepare programme and progress reporting covering milestones, critical path,

baseline performance, forecast completion, risks, constraints, recovery actions and CAPEX timing.
- Drive consistent planning, progress measurement, forecasting and reporting standards across the project.

Required Skills

- Strong project planning and project controls background within complex, multi-contractor construction environments.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including integrated schedules, baselines, progress updates, critical path analysis and forecasting.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, physical progress measurement, schedule variance, delay analysis and recovery planning.
- Experience managing and integrating contractor and subcontractor programmes into an Integrated Master Schedule.
- Strong understanding of CAPEX-intensive projects and the relationship between programme, procurement, physical progress, cost forecasts and cash flow.
- Experience integrating long-lead equipment, construction, energisation, commissioning and handover activities.
- Good understanding of major electrical and mechanical systems, utilities and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI or other project controls tools would be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Construction, Engineering, Procurement, Cost Control, Finance, Commissioning, contractors and vendors.
- Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
