What does a Plant Manager do?

As Plant Manager for our Liquibox manufacturing site in Madrid, you will lead the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the plant. You will connect production, supply chain, quality, maintenance, finance, commercial, and people priorities to ensure that the plant delivers the right products, at the right time, with the required levels of quality, service, and cost efficiency.You will set the plant’s direction, develop its people, improve processes, manage operational risks, and ensure that the site supports the broader business strategy.

This role requires a leader who can balance daily operational execution with longer-term improvements in capacity, capability, profitability, and customer service. The Plant Manager will also act as a key link between the plant and the wider business, strengthening collaboration with commercial, portfolio, and supply chain teams and helping the organization respond effectively to changing customer and market requirements.

- Work closely with the supply planner, materials control team, production teams, and relevant business stakeholders to improve replenishment, stock accuracy, and material flow.
- Use your financial understanding and commercial awareness to contribute to the plant budget, forecasts, cost plans, and longer-term business priorities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in manufacturing, plant operations, production, or site leadership as senior, strategic, or cross-functional operational leadership role.
- Proven experience managing or improving manufacturing performance across safety, quality, service, cost, productivity, and delivery.
- Experience leading continuous improvement, operational excellence, change-management, or transformation initiatives.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, capital investment, and financial performance analysis.
- Professional English proficiency.
- Experience in packaging, converting, versátil packaging, food packaging, liquid packaging, or a similar manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Experience with automation, digital transformation, advanced manufacturing technologies, ERP systems, and operational data analytics.
- Experience working in an international, matrix, or multi-site organization.
- Work environment: This role is based at the Liquibox manufacturing plant in Madrid and requires regular presence across office, production, warehouse, and plant-floor environments.
