Spain is one of our strategically important European markets. We are continuing to expand our business with utilities, transmission and distribution operators, EPC contractors, renewable-energy companies, industrial customers and infrastructure developers across Spain and Portugal.

To support our growing project portfolio in Iberia, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Power Transformers & High-Voltage Equipment to join our Madrid Office.

About the Role

This is a hands-on project-management position responsible for the successful execution of major power transmission and distribution projects from contract handover through engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning coordination, final acceptance and project close-out.

We are particularly interested in candidates with project-management experience in large power transformers.

However, we also strongly welcome professionals with relevant project experience in GIS, HV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, substations, reactors, power-quality equipment or other high-voltage electrical equipment. Strong project-management capability and experience working with utilities and EPC customers will be considered alongside specific product experience.

Based in Madrid, you will work closely with our local project-management and sales teams, customers throughout Spain and Portugal, and Hyosung's headquarters, engineering teams and manufacturing facilities in Korea.

The role requires someone who can combine technical understanding, contractual and commercial awareness, disciplined project control and effective customer communication.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage projects from order to completion: Take ownership of assigned projects following commercial handover and manage execution through engineering, manufacturing, testing, logistics, site activities, commissioning coordination, final acceptance and project close-out.
- Act as a key customer interface: Maintain effective day-to-day communication with utilities, grid operators, EPC contractors and other customers, ensuring that technical, contractual and schedule-related matters are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate headquarters and factories: Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics, commercial and service teams in Korea to ensure that customer requirements and contractual obligations are clearly understood and executed.
- Control project schedules and milestones:



Establish and maintain project schedules, monitor critical milestones and proactively identify potential delays, constraints and execution risks.
- Manage contractual obligations and project risks: Understand the key commercial and contractual requirements of each project, including delivery commitments, documentation requirements, payment milestones, liquidated-damage exposure, warranties and customer obligations.
- Manage changes and commercial issues: Identify scope changes, additional customer requirements and potential claims, coordinating internally to protect project objectives and contractual position.
- Coordinate engineering and documentation: Follow up technical approvals, drawings, customer comments, document submissions and other engineering deliverables required for project execution.
- Coordinate inspections and FAT activities: Plan and support customer inspections, factory acceptance tests and related customer visits in coordination with factories and quality teams.
- Support logistics and site execution: Coordinate delivery planning, transportation, installation and commissioning requirements together with customers, logistics teams and field-service specialists.
- Monitor project financial performance: Follow project billing and payment milestones, outstanding customer actions and relevant cost or margin risks in coordination with commercial and finance teams.
- Maintain clear internal reporting: Provide timely and transparent reporting on project progress, risks, customer issues, schedules and required management actions.
- Support effective sales-to-project handover: Work closely with the Madrid sales team to ensure that contractual commitments, technical requirements and customer expectations are clearly transferred into execution.

What We Are Looking For

- Ideally 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in project management, project engineering or project execution within the power transmission and distribution sector or closely related electrical infrastructure.
- Strong preference for experience with large power transformers, particularly projects involving utilities, transmission or distribution operators, EPC contractors or major industrial customers.
- Candidates with solid experience in GIS, HV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, substations, reactors, STATCOM or other high-voltage electrical equipment are also strongly encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience managing technically complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Good understanding of the typical project lifecycle for electrical equipment, including engineering, manufacturing, FAT,



logistics, installation and commissioning.
- Ability to understand and manage contractual requirements, project schedules, customer documentation, commercial changes and project risks.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects or workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills and the ability to manage demanding project situations in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written. Korean is not required. Portuguese-language capability and/or experience in Portugal would be an advantage.
- A university degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering or another relevant technical discipline is preferred.

Formal project-management certification such as PMP is welcome but not required.

Candidates will be assessed on their overall project-management capability, technical understanding, customer experience and track record rather than years of experience alone.

Location, Working Arrangements and Travel

This is a Madrid-based position requiring regular in-person attendance at our Madrid Office.

Candidates must already be based in Madrid or be willing to relocate and make Madrid their permanent work base.

The position is not fully remote. Close face-to-face collaboration with the Madrid project-management and sales teams, visiting headquarters colleagues and customers is an important part of the role.

Any limited remote-working arrangement will be subject to company policy and operational requirements.

Regular business travel within Spain and occasional travel to Portugal, Korea or other project-related locations may be required.
