We are an applied research center specializing in the marine sector and sustainable food.
At AZTI, we are curious, committed individuals with a passion for driving change. We work collaboratively to generate knowledge that has a positive impact on society.
Here, every person counts: you’ll be part of a community of over 280 professionals where continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development are part of our daily routine.
As a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), we participate in international projects that connect science, technology, and real-world impact.
Would you like to drive the observation and understanding of the oceans to face the challenges of global change?
At AZTI you will be able to promote scientific and technological projects that transform ocean data into applied knowledge, contributing to better management and understanding of the marine environment.
We are looking for a person with a consolidated scientific career who wants to take a step further: to promote strategic projects, connect science and technology, and generate impact through operational oceanography and marine observation.
What will your mission be?
Your mission will be to promote and coordinate the development of applied knowledge in physical oceanography and operational oceanography, transforming marine data and observations into solutions, services, and tools that add value to society, administrations, and the maritime-marine sector.
You will have autonomy to drive new lines of research, develop high-impact projects, and contribute to the scientific and technological positioning of AZTI in the field of ocean observation and integral change.
What will you do in this position?
- You will develop and coordinate applied research projects related to the operational monitoring of ocean physical conditions and marine transport processes.
- You will secure national and international funding to promote new lines of research and development.
- You will promote the transfer of knowledge and technology to administrations, companies, and other agents in the marine ecosystem.
- You will participate in the development of integrated oceanographic data management systems,
from acquisition to the generation of value-added products and services.
- You will collaborate with scientific, technological, and institutional teams at regional, national, and international levels.
- You will contribute to the scientific and technological positioning of AZTI in areas such as ocean observation, operational oceanography, and global change.
Your work will go beyond research: you will help generate key knowledge to understand and manage the oceans sustainably.
Who will you work with?
You will join the Coastal Engineering and Operational Oceanography (ICOO) area, collaborating with a multidisciplinary reference team in marine observation, modeling, and oceanographic data management, with Anna Rubio as coordinator:
