At House of ABY, we are launching a brand-new software development team in Barcelona to support one of our key clients, a integral leader in energy technology.

We are looking for a Tech Lead who wants to join us from day one, take ownership of the technical direction and help us build a high-performing engineering team from scratch.

? What will you do?Lead & grow the team

- Help recruit and build a team of five engineers.
- Define technical standards, development practices and ways of working.
- Mentor engineers and lead code reviews.
- Create a strong engineering culture focused on quality, ownership and continuous improvement.

Own the technical architecture
- Design scalable, secure and resilient AWS architectures.
- Define high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
- Lead threat modeling and embed security into the architecture from the beginning.
- Drive technical decisions across Python, React and AWS.
- Translate complex requirements into clear architecture diagrams and technical roadmaps.

Bring software into an industrial environment
- Integrate software risk management into NPI (New Product Introduction) processes.
- Contribute to FMEA activities and ensure software solutions meet industrial safety and reliability requirements.
- Champion DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability and reliable deployments.
- Collaborate within a SAFe environment, including PI Planning and cross-team coordination.

Become a technical partner
- Act as the technical point of contact between the development team and international stakeholders.
- Understand engineering and business needs and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions.
- Balance architecture, delivery, security, reliability and business priorities.

​ ? What are we looking for?

- 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a Tech Lead or technical leadership position.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Python and React.
- Solid experience designing architectures in AWS.
- Strong understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Previous experience working in industrial or engineering environments.
- Knowledge of NPI processes and FMEA methodology.
- Experience designing solutions around high availability and disaster recovery.
- Understanding of security architecture and threat modeling.
- Experience with SAFe or another scaled Agile framework.
- Ability to communicate architecture and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent English and confidence working in international environments.

The salary for this position ranges from € 55.000 to € 65.000 gross per year,
