In this role you will develop and implement direct-sourcing strategies to optimize spend for critical materials. You will work within the Procurement Excellence Buy Desk, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into RFPs and contracts, while driving cost savings. You will analyze supplier bids, benchmark options, and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to supplier reliability and category expertise. This position offers hands-on exposure to strategic sourcing in a dynamic environment allied with Thermo Fisher’s mission to enable healthier, cleaner, and safer outcomes.
Responsabilidades
Complete one-time or low-complexity sourcing requests as part of the Procurement Excellence Buy Desk
Capture and analyze data using procurement spend analytics tools
Collaborate with Market Intelligence to research potential suppliers for sourcing requests
Perform basic cost and scenario analysis to evaluate supplier bids
Research potential vendors and develop RFPs for spend under $1M per annum
Partner with customers to ensure requirements translate into RFPs and contracts




Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking to inform sourcing strategy
Negotiate contract terms and pricing with suppliers and record annual P&L; savings
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior sourcing generalists on category-specific requirements
Requisitos principales
3+ years of procurement experience within Direct categories (e.G., electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, chemicals, packaging)
Experience as a buyer, senior buyer, purchasing specialist agent or officer
Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations or business administration
High xhfqzwm level of English language proficiency (verbal and written)
Experience with sourcing process, vendor management, contract negotiations and procure-to-pay operations
Expertise in sourcing tools (e-sourcing, spend analytics, ERP, supplier management software)
Agility and flexibility to develop expertise across categories
Desire to grow as a sourcing specialist and build category knowledge
