The Peripheral Nervous System Unit focuses on two main areas of research. First, we develop and validate biomarkers for different neuromuscular diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myasthenia, neuropathies and myopathies. Second, we work on the implementation of new genetic tests for the diagnosis of rare diseases, contributing to the development of more accurate and innovative diagnostic approaches.
In addition, the unit participates in clinical trials across these disease areas, providing opportunities to translate research findings into clinical practice.
We are seeking a Clinical Researcher specialised in Neurology to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to our research and clinical activities in the field of neuromuscular diseases and rare diseases
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Participate as a Sub-Investigator in clinical trials involving neuromuscular diseases.
- Follow up and monitor patients with neuromuscular diseases throughout their participation in clinical trials and research activities.
- Collaborate with the clinical and research team in the development and follow-up of clinical studies.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Holds a degree in Medicine
- Completion of specialist training (MIR)
- Sub-specialised in Neuromuscular disease
Desirable:
- Fluent in English
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience:
- Relevant clinical experience as a medically qualified professional.
- Experience in participation in research lines and/or projects.
- Experience in clinical trials
