Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the design and delivery of fast, relevant search experiences for millions of users, shaping semantic and lexical search capabilities across Dow Jones products. You will act as technical lead for the Search team, aligning engineering work with product goals and brand priorities. You will harness AI-assisted development to boost velocity and quality, while guiding scalable, reliable infrastructure and observability. - Design, build, and operate search APIs and semantic search systems delivering real-time relevance
- Lead semantic retrieval and ranking pipelines including embeddings, vector indexing, and relevance tuning
- Act as technical lead by setting architecture, writing technical design docs, and enforcing engineering standards
- Collaborate withProduct Managers and Brand stakeholders to translate goals into engineering initiatives and measure impact
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming and technical guidance
- Promote AI coding agents to accelerate delivery and improve code quality
- Manage infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Chef, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins
- Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes




- Own reliability and observability of search services through SLOs, dashboards, incident response, and post-mortems
- Drive improvements in engineering processes and developer experience across the teamResponsabilidades
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience designing and scaling search or information retrieval systems with semantic search, embeddings, and vector databases
- Experience implementing RESTful APIs to industry standards
- Experience with multi-region, multi-environment systems, CI/CD, high availability and disaster recovery
- Experience with Terraform, Chef, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for production deployments
- Experience as technical lead or senior individual contributor owning architecture
- Experience collaborating with product managers and brand stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Comfort with AI-assisted development workflows
