Walker Cole International is exclusively supporting a well-established integral Contract Research Organisation, with over 4 decades in the clinical research market, in the search for a Director of Business Development to lead their commercial expansion into Europe. This is a rare opportunity to build a European business development function from the ground up, taking ownership of the region, shaping go-to-market strategy, establishing key client relationships and embedding a culture of consultative, solutions-led selling across both CRO services and clinical technology.

Your responsibilities as the Director of Business Development will include:
Driving new customer acquisition and expanding existing accounts across both CRO services and software/technology portfolios
Owning annual sales and revenue targets for the European territory
Building and managing a qualified opportunity pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking and territory planning




Developing and executing account and territory strategy across the European market
Positioning an integrated offering that combines clinical operations, data management, biostatistics and regulatory support alongside digital trial platforms and AI-enabled analytics
Building senior, C-suite relationships across biopharma clients and acting as a trusted advisor on their priorities and industry trends
Leading executive meetings, proposals and presentations
Monitoring competitor activity and emerging technologies, feeding market intelligence back to senior leadership
Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the wider business

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
~8–10 years' business development or commercial leadership experience within a CRO, clinical technology, or life sciences SaaS environment
~ A proven, quota-carrying track record of new business generation
~ Experience selling into biopharma at a senior/C
