Primary Packaging Engineer_ Supplier Change Management

Overview

Our client, a integral biopharmaceutical company, is looking for a contractor to support supplier change management for primary packaging components, including items such as vials, syringes, blisters, bottles, bags and cassettes. The role will focus on changes initiated by suppliers and their potential impact on internal manufacturing sites and external manufacturing partners.

This position will help ensure supplier change requests are assessed efficiently, materials are properly reviewed before use, and packaging components remain aligned with quality, regulatory and product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage supplier-initiated changes for primary packaging components from receipt through assessment and closure.
- Assess the potential impact of supplier changes on drug product, and where relevant, drug substance.
- Evaluate implications for regulatory requirements, quality, QC and affected products or stakeholders.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure impact assessments are completed accurately and on time.
- Review and apply relevant supplier agreements and existing change-management processes.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify and optimise the change-management process.
- Focus on primary packaging; secondary packaging is outside the scope of this assignment.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on professional with approximately 3–8 years of relevant experience in supplier change management, primary packaging,



quality, regulatory, materials science, pharmaceutical operations or a closely related area.

The ideal candidate combines strong execution discipline with curiosity, ownership and the ability to work collaboratively across functions. Previous exposure to supplier or packaging changes in a pharmaceutical environment is preferred.

- Experience in primary packaging, supplier change management, quality, regulatory affairs, QC, materials science or pharmaceutical manufacturing support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple change requests in a structured way.
- Confident working with stakeholders across quality, regulatory, QC, product and supply chain teams.
- Able to work independently while knowing when to escalate risks, questions or decisions.
- Motivated to contribute to process improvements and bring practical suggestions forward.
- Educational background may include engineering, pharmacy, materials science or another relevant scientific or technical discipline.

- Strong analytical skills and a structured, detail-oriented working style.
- Comfortable coordinating with quality, regulatory, QC, product and supply chain stakeholders.
- Able to dedicate sufficient capacity to the assignment and manage priorities effectively.
- French language skills are a strong advantage, but fluency is not required.
- Working proficiency in English is required.

Location & Working Model

- Candidate needs to be able to be on site either in Belgium or Switzerland at least 40%
