Senior Embedded Software Engineer

The Role:

We are currently working with an innovative technology company based in Liege, specialising in advanced image processing and imaging systems. They are looking to strengthen their R&D; team with an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer.

This role is particularly suited to an engineer with a strong background in low-level embedded software, firmware and bare-metal development, who enjoys working close to the hardware and contributing to technically challenging products.

You will work closely with the hardware and R&D; teams to develop, integrate and optimise embedded software for sophisticated imaging systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain embedded software and firmware using C/C++
- Develop software for STM32 and other microcontroller-based platforms
- Work on bare-metal and low-level embedded development
- Develop and integrate firmware with electronic hardware
- Work closely with hardware engineers throughout the development lifecycle
- Debug and troubleshoot software at both hardware and firmware level
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
- Optimise embedded software for performance,



reliability and resource constraints
- Support hardware/software integration and validation
- Contribute to the development of new and existing imaging technologies

Profile:

- 5+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
- Strong C and/or C++ programming skills
- Solid experience with microcontroller development
- Strong bare-metal / firmware development experience
- Experience with STM32 or comparable microcontrollers
- Good understanding of hardware/software interfaces and embedded systems
- Experience debugging embedded systems at a low level
- Embedded Linux is a plus
- French-Speaking is a preference
