At EBMT, we're looking for a Data Steward who combines technical know-how with a naturally inquisitive mindset. Someone who enjoys working with data, but is equally interested in understanding what it means, how it fits into the bigger picture, and how it can be improved. Because this role isn't just about maintaining data. It's about helping ensure that researchers and clinicians can rely on it to generate knowledge, drive innovation, and ultimately improve patients' lives.

The EBMT is a leading non-profit medical and scientific organisation, advancing cellular therapies and blood and marrow transplantation through collaboration, research and real-world data. As part of our Clinical Research and Registry Department, you'll join a team driving the evolution of one of the world's largest patient registries, helping to enhance data quality, support innovation and improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Your mission

As a Data Steward, you will be responsible for the quality assurance and harmonisation of Registry data, ensuring alignment with OMOP CDM standards and EBMT initiatives.

Support Study

Units and hospitals in data collection initiatives for EBMT Registry data and studies.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Data Stewardship

- Design, implement and test new Data Collection Forms (DCFs), including versioning and harmonisation across form releases.

- Mapping of data collection forms to the OMOP CDM or other data model(s)

- Providing input and designing data quality reports





- Conducting data quality campaigns on a regular basis and per request. Support query managers to effectively perform data quality activities in the Registry

- Documenting data policies and data standards, contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

- Review and provide feedback on study data collection initiatives

Project Coordination and Communication

- Coordinate various data management related project activities within the Registry unit and other stakeholders

- Contribute to the development of the Registry infrastructure and functionality

- Collaborate and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Training

- Carry out and assist with Data Management related training to EBMT staff and members

- Develop written and visual training materials

Requirements

- Fluent in English, excellent oral and written skills.

- Degree in the field of biomedical sciences, bioinformatics, data science or similar

- Experience as data manager, data engineer, data analyst, data steward or related

- Experience with relational databases

- Python, SQL and/or R experience.

- Experience with GitHub.

- Familiarised with good coding practices

- Familiarised with GDPR and/or GCP

- Good communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with people in a multicultural / multilingual environment. Analytical/logical thinking, strong problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, thorough. Proactive,



able to adapt to a fast paced and ever changing work environment. Team player.

Desirable

- Experience with clinical standards (e.g. OMOP, CDISC) and vocabularies (e.g. SNOMED CT, MedDRA)

- Familiarised with clinical and medical data (ideally haematology, immunology and/or HSC transplant programs and new cell therapies)

- Experience with working in the non-profit sector

- Full-time role (37.5h/week) with versátil hours (start between 8–10 am).

- Temporary contract for six months, with the prospect of a permanent contract.

- Holiday pro rata (13 working days, 6 months).

- Salary: 31.574 (scale 13.0) to 34.595 (scale 13.3) gross/year (depending on previous experience).

- Probation period: 2 months.

- Start date: October/ November
