Overview In this role you will lead and support a large DB2 for z/OS environment within a general DB2 Support Team. You will ensure availability, performance, integrity, and security across 50+ DB2 subsystems, collaborating with development, operations, and security teams. You'll drive upgrades, DR planning, and strategic initiatives to optimize OLTP performance and reliability.

Responsabilidades

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 for z/OS environments

Support a large-scale enterprise DB2 infrastructure with multiple subsystems

Plan and execute DB2 version upgrades, migrations, and maintenance implementations

Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for DB2-based applications

Ensure stability, integrity, availability, and performance of DB2 databases and supporting infrastructure

Support and manage Distributed Data Facility (DDF) and distributed DB2 connectivity

Maintain and optimize OLTP environments using CICS and DB2

Monitor performance and implement tuning recommendations

Develop, test, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures

Ensure storage management, archiving, and retention processes

Implement and manage database security controls and access governance

Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and infrastructure issues





Collaborate with application teams on design, deployment, and problem resolution

Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements

Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

Maintain database and monitoring solutions on supported versions

On-call and after-hours support for incidents and planned maintenance

Lead technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for major incidents

Drive automation, performance optimization, and operational excellence

Requisitos principales 8 to 15+ years in IBM Mainframe Systems Programming with DB2 for z/OS focus

Proven experience with large-scale enterprise DB2 environments and multiple subsystems

Strong DB2 installation, migration, maintenance, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

Experience in Banking/Financial Services or other mission-critical environments preferred

Hands-on experience with CICS and DB2 for high-volume OLTP

DB2 for z/OS, z/OS, SMP/E, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, RACF

Experience installing, upgrading, testing DB2 releases and providing Level 2/3 support

Knowledge of Distributed DB2 Connectivity (DDF)

Expertise in performance monitoring, capacity planning, backup/recovery, DR, and security administration

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; excellent communication; ability to work independently strong communication analytical thinking independence
