Overview

As Engineering Director, you lead the technical direction, hands-on delivery, and scaling of AI across enabling functions (HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Audit, Compliance). You combine deep AI engineering with strategic governance to deliver production-grade, auditable systems that satisfy multi-jurisdictional requirements. You drive reusable platform components, secure governance instrumentation, and cross-functional collaboration with technology, governance, and business units.

This role offers high-impact work at the intersection of AI and regulatory compliance in a large, regulated enterprise.

Responsabilidades

Set the AI roadmap across enabling functions and align with business priorities

Define scalable, governed AI platform architecture with modular design and compliance from the outset

Make high-stakes architectural decisions on model strategy, data routing, and integration patterns

Foster platform thinking with reusable components and governance instrumentation

Account for data sovereignty in model routing and hosting decisions

Articulate engineering value to senior stakeholders in terms of scalability, risk, and regulatory defensibility

Lead hands-on AI engineering for multi-agent LLM architectures and RAG pipelines

Ensure rapid experiment-> production gates with real data and defined success criteria

Design governance frameworks surrounding AI applications (classification, risk assessment, approvals, monitoring)

Embed human-in-the-loop oversight, audit trails, and model/data cards into standard practice





Maintain separation between build and review functions through second-line governance tooling

Ensure domain-specific governance for Finance, Legal, HR, Procurement, and Audit

Own lifecycle governance for live AI systems including re-assessment and change management

Build capabilities for safe failure, monitoring, and resilience across essential services

Lead a multidisciplinary team and foster depth, succession, and AI literacy across functions

Drive end-to-end delivery from architecture to production, scaling, and lifecycle management

Partner with enterprise tech to leverage shared platforms and standards

Establish model serving, data pipelines, APIs, security, and observability standards

Advance MLOps maturity with CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident management

Oversee data engineering approaches for AI data products with quality and governance

Define data quality, lineage, and governance standards for sensitive data

Requisitos principales significant experience governing AI systems in regulated enterprises hands-on AI engineering with production-grade delivery ability to navigate multi-jurisdiction data sovereignty and cross-border governance experience delivering AI across enabling functions (HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Audit)
