We are looking for an Environmental Specialist, on a Temporary position, who will provide in-house environmental expertise to support renewable energy projects and operational assets, ensuring the correct identification, implementation and follow-up of environmental requirements throughout the project life cycle.
The position aims to ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation and environmental permits, support the effective implementation of preventive, corrective and compensatory measures, and contribute to environmental risk management across development, construction and operation phases.
By taking an active role in assigned projects and environmental topics, the position supports day-to-day environmental management and contributes to the effective functioning of the overall HSEQ function, enabling appropriate distribution of technical and operational responsibilities.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Support renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle (pre-feasibility, due diligence and development, construction and operation), ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and permits.
- Manage,
coordinate and review environmental documentation and reports required during project development and execution, including environmental impact studies, environmental monitoring during construction, and mandatory follow‑up reports.
- Coordinate, supervise and follow up the implementation of preventive, corrective and compensatory environmental measures derived from environmental permits, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance and proper long‑term monitoring.
- Support construction and O&M; teams by supervising environmental compliance on site, carrying out inspections and site visits, and supporting the management of deviations, non‑conformities and environmental incidents.
- Identify and apply environmental requirements applicable to projects, including waste management, soils, emissions, noise, water management, hazardous substances and biodiversity aspects, and support the preparation of the related technical documentation.
- Participate in internal audits, as well as support external audits and inspections related to environmental matters.
- Manage, coordinate and technically review the work performed by external environmental consultants, ensuring reliable and transparent communication with internal teams and external project partners and stakeholders.
- Represent the company in environmental matters and contribute to a positive corporate and environmental image in the Spanish market.
Your profile
- University Degree in Environmental Sciences or related disciplines, as well as other technical degrees complemented with specialization in environmental management.
- 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental management of renewable energy projects in Spain, covering different project phases.
- Solid knowledge of Spanish environmental legislation applicable to renewable energy projects, including practical experience in the environmental permitting and authorization processes.
- Experience in the use of GIS tools (QGIS or similar)
- Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001) is considered an advantage
- Good knowledge of English.
- Driving license B and availability to travel within Spain according to project needs.
