About us
Stockholm HQ with a Madrid R&D; center, building a platform so any device with a secure chip can pay, access transit, enter buildings, etc. Fidesmo Pay is their flagship, launched with Visa, Mastercard, banks and wearable makers — powering Swatch Pay and Honor's smartwatch payments. Work spans tiny-footprint chip code up through scalable server code and iOS/Android/web/CLI clients, developed in-house under their own quality bar.
Role description
Backend team role building the services connecting to payment networks, transit authorities, and secure chips. You'd learn to implement cryptography correctly and manage keys securely in a highly concurrent environment, and take part in CI/DevOps. Agile process — you'd join design/implementation discussions, planning, and code reviews.
The expectation is you grow alongside more experienced developers until you own one or more subsystems and contribute to other projects/libraries.
Open to experimenting with new tech; they'll train you in the languages, crypto, and domain knowledge needed.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, maths, physics, or engineering
- Comfortable with abstract thinking and complexity
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language
- Some server-side coding experience
- Enjoys collaborative, small-team work with mutual code review
- Comfortable working in English day-to-day
Nice to have
- Java, Kotlin, or Scala experience
- Database design
- Functional programming knowledge
- Interest in cryptography and security tech
