Lead Mechanical Engineer (Client-Side) – Data Centre

We are looking for an experienced Senior or Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the client-side delivery team on a major data centre development in Zaragoza.

This is a long-term, 2-year contract offering €550 per day plus expenses , working directly on behalf of the client and providing technical and delivery oversight across the mechanical scope.

The Role

You will act as a key interface between the client, General Contractor, design houses and wider project stakeholders, ensuring the mechanical installation is delivered in accordance with the design, programme and required technical standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Client-side oversight of the General Contractor's mechanical works
- Reviewing mechanical design, specifications and technical submissions
- Coordinating with external design houses and engineering consultants
- Managing and reviewing RFIs, technical queries and change requests
- Assessing design changes and their impact on cost, programme and constructability
- Monitoring installation quality and compliance with project requirements
- Supporting design coordination and resolution of site-based technical issues
- Attending design,



construction and progress meetings
- Working closely with CSA, electrical, commissioning and project management teams
- Tracking technical actions through to resolution
- Supporting the project through construction, testing and commissioning phases

Requirements We are looking for someone with:

- Strong mechanical engineering experience on large-scale construction projects
- Previous data centre / mission-critical experience
- Experience working in a client-side, consultancy, PMC or owner's engineer environment preferred
- Strong understanding of data centre mechanical systems, including cooling, HVAC, chilled water and associated infrastructure
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating design teams
- Strong knowledge of RFI, change control and technical submittal processes
- Ability to challenge contractors technically and commercially where required
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
