Online Psychiatry is a fast-growing UK mental health company providing specialist online psychiatric care across the United Kingdom.

We work with leading GMC-registered psychiatrists and therapists to improve access to high-quality mental health care, making it faster, more accessible and more human.

We are a small team, which means the person in this role will have real ownership from the start, and will see the direct impact of their work on patients every single day.

About the role
We are looking for a warm, empathetic and organised intern to join our team as the first point of contact for our patients, and to help keep the clinic running behind the scenes.

This is a hybrid role with two sides. The first is patient-facing: every day you will be in direct contact with people seeking mental health support, answering their questions by email, WhatsApp and phone, guiding them through the booking process and ensuring they feel heard, reassured and well looked after at every step. The second is operational: you will help bring new psychiatrists into the clinic and keep our billing and administration accurate and on time.

You do not need a clinical background, but you must genuinely care about people and understand the sensitivity required when working with patients in a healthcare setting.

What you'll do
Patient support
Be the first point of contact for patient enquiries via email, WhatsApp and phone
Support patients through the booking process with warmth, clarity and patience
Handle appointment confirmations, rescheduling and cancellations
Manage and update patient workflows through our booking system to ensure smooth and timely processes
Follow up with patients before and after their appointments
Keep patient records and CRM up to date with accuracy and discretion

Clinician onboarding
Support the onboarding of new psychiatrists joining the clinic: documentation, registration checks, contracts and system access




Help new clinicians settle into our ways of working, and be their go-to person for day-to-day questions
Keep clinician records and compliance documentation complete and up to date

Administration and billing
Support patient invoicing and payment follow-up
Help prepare monthly clinician invoicing
Keep internal trackers and documentation accurate

Across all of it
Work closely with the customer support team and operations team
Help identify ways to improve response times, internal processes and the overall patient experience

What we are looking for
Empathy and warmth: these are essential qualities for this role
Genuine interest in the healthcare sector and comfort working directly with patients every day
Proficient English (both written and spoken) is essential. This is the working language of the company and you will be communicating with UK-based patients daily by email, WhatsApp and phone
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a discreet, professional manner
Proactive and reliable: someone who takes ownership and follows through
Comfortable with digital tools and quick to learn new platforms
Studies in any field welcome, though a background in Health Sciences, Psychology, Business or Communications is a plus
Previous experience in healthcare, patient-facing or customer-facing roles is a strong plus
