Overview

As Senior Principal Applied AI Scientist, you will spearhead AI-driven personalized learning solutions and shape Preply's scientific roadmap. You'll architect state-of-the-art models with a world-class team to enhance learning experiences for millions of users. You'll set long-term research directions aligned with product goals and advise leadership on technology decisions.

This role combines autonomy, cross-functional influence, and the chance to push the boundaries of AI in education, at global scale.

Responsabilidades Design and deploy scalable ML solutions for personalized learning and intelligent tutor systems using deep learning, NLP, IR, LLMs, and multimodal AI

Develop long-term scientific roadmaps aligned with product strategy and business goals

Collaborate with applied science, product,



and engineering teams to translate research into products that unlock new opportunities

Mentor scientists and engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative science community

Establish and promote ML best practices across architecture, roadmaps, and deployment pipelines

Requisitos principales PhD in NLP, IR, ML or related fields (or equivalent experience)

8+ years of industry experience with deep learning-based NLP, LLM pre-training, and IR methods

Expertise in retrieval models and ranking models

Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and LLMs in real-world applications

Proficiency with PyTorch

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)

Proven ability to lead scientific roadmaps across product areas and collaborate with Product and Engineering

Track record of solving real-world problems across research to production strong collaboration and cross-functional teamwork leadership and mentorship strategic advisory capabilities to senior leadership
