Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Unified Compute team, you will own the backend layer that makes compute provisioning, usage tracking, and billing reliable and scalable across multi-cloud and on-prem environments. You'll shape architecture, data models, and APIs to support configurable, pay-as-you-go compute for scientists. You'll collaborate with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to deliver a seamless, customer-centric platform experience.

This role offers ownership end-to-end and a clear impact on how researchers run workloads and understand costs.

Responsabilidades Own integration between Seqera Intelligent Compute and the Seqera Platform

Manage compute environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, HPC schedulers and GPU workloads

Integrate with cloud provider APIs, handling partial failures and quota issues

Own billing and pay-as-you-go path, ensuring accurate metering and invoicing





Design data models and APIs that stay consistent across services and releases

Improve error visibility and add tests/observability for faster incident diagnosis

Collaborate with Platform, product, and support teams; document systems for sustainability

Take design decisions within scope and ensure knowledge is documented

Requisitos principales 4+ years building and operating production backend services with ownership of at least one

Strong in Java and/or Groovy, with Micronaut, Spring Boot or similar

Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider API for provisioning resources

Experience with Kubernetes workloads

Commitment to data correctness and potentially billing/meters systems

Experience designing REST APIs and data models, handling versioned integrations

Accountability for a customer-facing production system

Ability to operate with ambiguity and drive work independently

Willingness to use AI as part of engineering practices ownership problem-solving under ambiguity collaboration with cross-functional teams
