Overview

As a Staff Engineer on the Learning Teams, you will shape and own the technical roadmap for AI-enabled, media-rich learning experiences. You'll drive end-to-end initiatives, guide architecture for a scalable platform, and collaborate across product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes. You'll elevate engineering practices, mentor senior engineers, and influence tech decisions that impact learners and tutors worldwide.

Responsabilidades Shape and co-own the Learning Teams' engineering strategy and roadmap with leadership alignment

Lead end-to-end strategic initiatives translating product vision into technical execution

Evolve architecture and core services for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency

Improve developer experience and engineering practices through RFCs, post-mortems, and quality frameworks

Mentor and influence senior engineers, tech leads, EMs,



and hiring panels while remaining hands-on for critical work

Make build-vs-buy decisions and lead vendor/tooling evaluations and negotiations

Requisitos principales Strong foundation in software engineering and architecture for large-scale systems

Full-stack proficiency across frontend, mobile, backend, APIs, and data flows

Hands-on experience with proofs-of-concept, rapid iteration, and technical validation

Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to influence without formal authority

Proven track record of end-to-end ownership from scope to operational stability

Analytical and creative problem-solving with ability to evaluate trade-offs under uncertainty

Experience across domains: feature development, architecture evolution, migrations, and process improvements

Domain interest in AI/ML, media/video platforms, data infrastructure, or QA/test-automation at scale strong communication leadership and mentorship ability to influence without authority architecture and systems design for large-scale platforms full-stack development proofs-of-concept and rapid prototyping
