Overview

As Staff Platform Engineer, you provide technical leadership across platform squads to raise the quality and reliability of Preply's internal platforms. You'll shape direction for infrastructure, runtime, data, developer and application platforms while doing hands-on work to deliver production changes. You drive operability, SRE practices, and scalable tooling, guiding engineers and mentoring leads to raise execution standards.

You'll work in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment that values open collaboration and measurable impact. This role offers a unique chance to influence platform reliability at integral scale and contribute to a mission-driven ed-tech company.

Responsabilidades Provide technical leadership across platform squads including architecture decisions and reusable patterns

Lead cross-squad initiatives to improve code-to-production flow, CI foundations, and self-service entry points

Drive operability improvements: SLOs, dashboards, alerting standards, runbooks, and incident readiness





Root-cause analysis and remediation for high-impact reliability issues, with automation to prevent recurrence

Build and operate critical platform services with strong engineering discipline

Mentor senior engineers and tech leads to raise design quality and execution standards

Use data to guide priorities, measure outcomes, and drive durable improvements

Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to improve execution and prevention

Requisitos principales Senior technical leader track record delivering cross-team impact

Hands-on experience with designing and maintaining high-traffic distributed systems

Strong Python / Django engineering skills with production-grade tooling

Experience with DevOps and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)

Strong CI/CD, build/test reliability, and developer workflow expertise

Foundations in reliability engineering: observability, alerting, incident response

Clear written communication and technical influence

Willingness to participate in paid on-call rotations collaborative mindset strong written communication ability to influence and mentor

Python / Django distributed systems design
