We are looking for a Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) Research & Development Engineer to join our Photonics and Quantum Sensing team and contribute to the development of high-performance inertial sensing technologies.
The role is primarily focused on the design, development and performance improvement of Fiber Optic Gyroscopes , combining a strong understanding of FOG physics and photonic systems with experimental characterization and system-level engineering.




The successful candidate will initially contribute to the development and maturation of a high-performance FOG-based inertial system and will subsequently continue working on the evolution of our FOG technology, targeting improvements in FOG performances, as well as investigating future advanced and photonics and quantum inertial sensing technologies.

Tasks to be performed
- Design and develop high-performance Fiber Optic Gyroscopes and their photonic subsystems.
- Define and optimize FOG architectures, optical configurations and key technical requirements.
- Analyze the main physical and technological mechanisms limiting FOG performance.
- Develop solutions to improve bias stability, scale factor stability, noise performance, thermal behavior and repeatability.
- Define, maintain and refine FOG performance and error budgets.
