Job Description:
An opportunity for an Aerodynamics Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).The selected candidate will join the Aerodynamics Team, who is responsible for the aerodynamic development and optimization of Airbus Defence & Space aircraft.
The team works in a multidisciplinary Flight Physics environment and collaborates closely with specialists across international partner organizations.
The jobholder will reinforce our Flight Physics division, participating in diverse projects including external shape design, steady and unsteady aerodynamic data modeling, safe separation analysis, and experimental wind tunnel test campaigns.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Design air vehicle external shapes and deliver optimized aerodynamic solutions, performance data, handling qualities, and loads models on time, cost, and quality (TCQ).
- Answer program specifications by developing and maintaining technologies, methods, tools, and expertise across the Aerodynamics discipline throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
- Develop expertise in the advanced application of numerical and experimental aerodynamic prediction tools.
- Acquire and advance innovative aerodynamic technologies aligned with overall company strategy.
- Connect with the external research community focused on aerodynamics and multidisciplinary air vehicle design and optimization.
- Collaborate directly with related flight physics disciplines, including structures, loads, stability & control, and mass properties.
