The Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital.

The Biomedical Data Intelligence Unit (BIDU) is a transversal core facility within the Digital Transformation Area, providing expertise in biostatistics, bioinformatics, data science and artificial intelligence applied to biomedical research. BIDU supports research groups across the Vall d’Hebron Campus, ensuring methodological rigor, reproducibility, data governance and quality compliance.

We are looking for a Bioinformatics Technician to execute and monitor omics data analysis projects for research groups. The successful candidate will lead requirement scoping and result interpretation meetings, elaborate technical reports under quality standards, maintain analytical pipelines, ensure data traceability, and support training initiatives.

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Execute and monitor bioinformatics data analysis services (specially omics data processing),



conducting initial scoping meetings for requirement capture and return meetings for result interpretation.
- Elaborate technical bioinformatics reports adhering to quality standards and participate actively in internal cross-validation reviews to ensure results robustness.
- Provide technical advice to researchers on bioinformatics projects and collaborate with the Head of Unit and Supervisor in drafting technical proposals and associated budgets.
- Perform data management tasks for each project, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and full data traceability throughout the workflow.
- Develop, maintain, and implement technical improvements in the Unit's bioinformatics pipelines to adapt to study requirements.
- Support teaching and training activities organised by the Unit (such as the VHIR’s Master in Translational Biomedical Research) and provide technical guidance to trainees and students.
