As Principal Engineer you will shape and build scalable backend systems in Node.js and Rust on AWS while guiding the technical direction of Viaplays platform. You will lead by example, mentor engineers, and foster a metrics-driven, autonomous team culture. The role focuses on tackling complexity, enabling a move toward event-driven, serverless architecture, and continuously learning with new tools, including AI. This is a chance to impact a large, content-driven product across a blended hybrid environment.

Responsabilidades
Hands-on development of scalable, resilient backend services in Node.js and Rust on AWS
Define and drive the platforms technical vision and architecture
Mentor engineers and promote a strong developer culture
Operate within an autonomous, metrics-driven team to deliver aligned with long-term product goals
Support transition toward event-driven, serverless architecture and ongoing modernization




Encourage adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices where adding value
Foster knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration
Define integration and collaboration with third-party platforms and COTS products
Build or modernize complex systems at scale
Requisitos principales
Extensive experience in JavaScript/TypeScript; experience in Rust or Python
Proven ability to design highly scalable, resilient cloud services on AWS
Experience setting technical direction and influencing peers across teams
Background with stateless, highly transactional end-user xqbhyrx products
Strong track record in agile, autonomous, delivery-focused teams
Experience introducing and scaling AI-assisted engineering practices
Comfort with hybrid, distributed, collaborative environments
Experience establishing knowledge-sharing patterns and leading cross-team initiatives
Experience defining integration strategies with third-party platforms and products
Experience building, modernizing, or migrating complex systems at scale
