Overview
In this Backend Python Engineer role, you will build robust, scalable APIs and services powering Roche Diagnostics Solutions' digital products. You'll work closely with frontend and data science teams to design backend infrastructure for complex bioinformatics and ML data, and you'll scale cloud-native solutions on AWS. Your contributions will improve data processing, storage, and production readiness across large biomedical datasets. This is a collaborative, impact-driven opportunity within a mission to accelerate diagnostics and personalized healthcare.
Responsabilidades Design, build, and maintain high-performance asynchronous backend services and robust RESTful APIs
Architect, deploy, and manage scalable secure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Design efficient database schemas, manage data relationships, perform migrations, and optimize massive query performance




Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest and process large volumes of structured and unstructured scientific data
Champion engineering excellence through clean code, automated testing, and reliable CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with UX/Frontend and Data Scientists to integrate APIs and productionize ML models
Requisitos principales 5+ years of software engineering experience with Python
Strong API design and RESTful systems experience
Relational database familiarity, data modeling, migrations, query optimization
Experience building and managing scalable cloud infrastructure with IaC
Focus on code quality, automated testing, and CI/CD
Ability to work end-to-end in ambiguous environments
Hands-on with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, AWS (S3, Aurora, Fargate, Lambda, CDK), pytest, NumPy
