As a Senior Software Engineer on the Elasticsearch - Search Relevance team, you will shape the direction and implementation of advanced search capabilities at Scale. You’ll work with a globally distributed team to deliver fast, relevant search experiences and contribute to improvements in Lucene. The role blends feature development, bug fixes, and potential new algorithms, with a strong emphasis on autonomous, collaborative execution. Responsabilidades
Lead initiatives to deliver industry-leading search with top speed and relevance
Build new search features, fix bugs, and simplify code; potentially invent algorithms or data structures
Collaborate with a globally distributed team focusing on vector search capabilities
Develop deep expertise in Elasticsearch search relevance and drive improvements
Engage with community members via issues and pull requests, triaging and handing off when needed
Write idiomatic Java (Elasticsearch is primarily Java)
Requisitos principales
Professional experience with search or vector databases at scale
Strong core Java skills and knowledge of data structures, concurrency, and lambdas
Ability to own projects from design to delivery with cross-functional collaboration
Experience with asynchronous collaboration and distributed teamwork
Experience with data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, xqbhyrx Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
Track record of using AI to accelerate development and optimize code while owning outcomes
Ability to adapt across projects and codebases based on business priorities
Strong communication and code review abilities
Autonomy and self-direction
Effective collaboration across functions and teams
Ability to give and receive feedback on code and APIs
Java, with strong knowledge of concurrency and standard libraries
Elasticsearch and/or Solr experience
