A leading multinational company is looking for an experienced Logistics Senior Manager to lead and optimize its international logistics network across Europe and global markets.

This strategic leader role reports directly to the Global Logistics Director and combines high-level network design, transportation strategy, operational excellence, and people leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth, enhancing customer satisfaction, driving cost competitiveness, as well as advancing digital transformation initiatives across the logistics function.
- Define and execute the international transportation strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Design and implement scalable and resilient logistics networks across Europe and general markets.
- Identify opportunities to improve service levels, reduce lead times, and optimize transportation costs.
- Support the development of centralized transportation management and control tower capabilities.
- Provide logistics expertise and cost modelling for commercial opportunities, market expansion projects, and new business initiatives.
International Logistics Management
- Lead international transport operations across road, sea, air, and multimodal freight.
- Ensure efficient execution of import, export, and cross-trade flows.
- Drive operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and On-Time-In-Full performance.
- Secure transportation capacity to support seasonal demand fluctuations and business growth.
- Lead incident management, contingency planning, and resolution of major logistics disruptions.
- Coordinate effectively with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Improve visibility, traceability, and performance management throughout the logistics network.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export legislation.
- Develop transportation sourcing strategies across all freight modes.
- Lead tender processes, supplier evaluations, carrier selection, and contract negotiations.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with logistics service providers worldwide.
- Establish performance management frameworks based on KPIs and service excellence.
- Drive supplier collaboration initiatives focused on quality, reliability, flexibility, sustainability, and cost optimization.
Cost Management & Operational Excellence
- Manage logistics budgets and cost performance across the international logistics function.
- Drive benchmarking, transparency, and best-practice implementation.
- Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives while safeguarding service levels.
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and logistics cost modelling activities.
- Foster a performance-driven culture based on operational discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead logistics digitalization and automation projects.
- Enhance real-time transportation visibility, milestone tracking, and exception management.
- Develop KPI dashboards and advanced management reporting tools.
- Leverage data analytics to improve planning accuracy, customer service, and cost performance.
- Lead strategic projects related to logistics visibility, network optimization, process standardization, and operational excellence.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, guide, develop and manage international logistics teams across multiple countries and locations.
- Strengthen organizational capabilities through coaching, development, and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused,
and high-performance culture.
What perfect candidate looks like
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree is considered an advantage.
- Languages: Fluent English and Spanish, German is considered a strong advantage, additional European languages are a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in international logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or trade operations.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing international or cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience operating within multinational and matrix organizations.
- Strong background in FMCG, food, retail, consumer goods, temperature-controlled logistics, or other high-volume industries.
- Demonstrated success leading transformation, digitalization, operational excellence, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Extensive experience managing global freight flows, logistics providers, and transportation networks.
- Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities.
- Excellent commercial and financial acumen.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Customer‐centric approach and service orientation.
- Ability to lead change and transformation in complex international environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and decision‐making abilities.
