As a Senior AI Scientist in Santanders CDAIO, you will develop advanced AI models on large datasets to solve real-world banking problems. You will translate business challenges into scientific goals, build production-ready prototypes, and collaborate across disciplines to scale responsible AI solutions. You’ll contribute to best practices, model governance, and cutting-edge research while engaging with academia and the global AI community. Responsabilidades
Research, design, and implement advanced AI algorithms (ML, DL, NLP, and beyond) to solve complex problems
Translate business challenges into scientific problem statements and build impactful ML/AI prototypes and models with business impact
Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data to develop models that are accurate, fair, and sustainable
Collaborate with Data Engineers, MLOps Engineers, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders to deploy solutions into production
Contribute to AI best practices, model governance, and responsible AI frameworks




Stay current with the latest AI research and integrate relevant tools and techniques
Communicate insights and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Foster collaboration with academia and the global AI community to bring cutting-edge research into Santander
Requisitos principales
5-8 years of experience with large datasets and model development
PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related field
English: fluent or high; Spanish: preferred
Proven impact of AI solutions deployed in production or strong publication record in top AI/ML venues
Strong programming skills (Python or similar) and experience with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face Transformers)
End-to-end model development experience (experimentation, deployment, xqbhyrx adaptation, monitoring)
Solid understanding of evaluation metrics, bias mitigation, explainability, and fairness in AI
Hands-on experience with Generative AI (LLMs or diffusion models) in production
Experience with scalable AI infrastructure, cloud deployments, and MLOps
Deep domain knowledge in financial services or regulated industries
Contributions to open-source projects or leadership in the global AI community
Curiosity and drive to tackle big challenges
Strong communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
Cross-functional collaboration
