Overview
In this role you will own the technical vision for Deels Growth engine and lead a small cross-disciplinary team. You will design and ship AI-powered features that boost platform yield, while writing production code in Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. You'll influence architecture, review AI-generated code, and communicate constraints to partners. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of global work at scale.

Responsabilidades Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to scope and ship features end to end
Drive technical decisions aligned with company standards
Support the tech lead on architecture, code reviews, and design feedback
Design and deploy AI agents at scale to accelerate yield across the platform




Use AI coding tools to accelerate development
Review all AI-generated code before shipping
Communicate technical constraints clearly to non-technical partners
Requisitos principales 8+ years as a Backend Engineer working on complex, scalable systems
2+ years leading or mentoring engineers as a tech lead or manager
Background in data: data engineering, data science, analysis, or AI engineering
Strong with Node.js or Python
PostgreSQL and ORMs (Sequelize, TypeORM) as muscle memory
Understands how AI works at a product level and can ship AI-powered products
Hands-on with AI coding tools
Strong communicator and ownership from design to production
