The role:
GTD Defense & Security Solutions designs, develops, and integrates systems and products to secure and protect people, critical infrastructures, and territories. We create systems that support all kinds of peacekeeping and search & rescue operations, from HQ to personnel on the ground, including training and simulation tools.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our I&C; area in GTD Defense & Security Solutions, the company of GTD Group specialized in the design and development of large, complex and/or safety-critical applications. Position activities:
As part of GTD's Systems Integration team, the successful candidate will support the mechanical design and integration of complex systems.
The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on the integration of mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems, mainly for landborder surveillance and naval applications, both for national and international markets.
Your profile:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Nice-to-have:
- Previous internship or academic project experience in mechanical design
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, CNC, etc.)
- Basic understanding of tolerance analysis and engineering calculations
- Experience with simulation tools
- Interest in defense
