In this role you will support a large-scale z/OS mainframe network, focusing on secure host communication subsystems. You’ll join a multi-functional team providing 24x7 coverage and work on configuring, maintaining, and securing mainframe network services. You will interact with technical, applications, and operations teams to ensure connectivity and security, with opportunities to handle complex problems and stay current with evolving technologies. Responsabilidades
- Support IBM mainframe networks and transmissions infrastructure
- Participate in 24x7 support rota
- Perform TCPIP Port Reserves (Add/Delete/Change)
- Perform VTAM updates (Add/Delete/Change)
- Manage OSA Adapters in a complex mainframe environment
- Perform VTAM PU/LU updates including Enterprise Extenders
- Implement AT-TLS rules and manage digital certificates
- Configure and manage IPSEC policies (permit/deny, VPN/IPsec tunnels)
- Trace, debug and perform error analysis
- Coordinate with technical, applications and operations staff to ensure network connectivity and security, including after hours and weekends as needed
Requisitos principales
- Experience administering file transmission products such as Connect:Direct and FTP (or equivalent user experience)
- Knowledge of z/OS and z/OS utilities
- Understanding of z/OS networking services and related software/protocols
- Understanding of network security disciplines (IPSec, TLS/SSL, certificates)
- Experience in problem management from diagnosis to resolution
- Understanding of Change Management processes
- Ability to customize and manage secure SNA and TCP/IP networks under z/OS
- Knowledge of mainframe network management tools (e.g., NetMaster) and multi-session tools (TUBES, Supersession)
- Experience with mainframe printing products
- General z/OS systems programming experience
- Knowledge of System z hardware including OSA-Express NICs
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with Cisco Network Solutions
- Ability to work to tight deadlines; strong organizational skills
- Willingness to keep up with new technology
