Overview

As R&D; Manager for the rubber business, you define and drive the global R&D; strategy and steer new product development for rubber power transmission belts. You lead an interdisciplinary team and coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales to ensure market success. You optimize designs, materials and processes for performance and cost efficiency, while ensuring compliance and sustainability. The role involves international travel to China and India and reports to the Rubber Product Line Manager.

Responsabilidades

- Define and execute mid- and long-term global R&D; strategy aligned with corporate objectives
- Lead and develop the R&D; team (product engineering, materials, laboratory and testing)
- Drive new product development and continuous improvement of rubber power transmission belts
- Research, develop and validate rubber compounds, reinforcements and surface treatments
- Improve product performance (durability, energy efficiency, noise, vibration, thermal and chemical resistance)
- Optimize materials, designs and processes for cost reduction and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, regulations and customer requirements
- Define and oversee product testing, validation and homologation




- Manage R&D; budget, priorities and resource allocation
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales for industrialization and market success
- Support customer technical needs and product troubleshooting
- Resolve product issues with Quality and Engineering to ensure reliability
- Contribute to sustainability and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Monitor technology and market trends and foster collaboration with suppliers and external partners
- Promote Health & Safety and Environmental practices within the technical organization

Requisitos principales

- Engineering degree (Industrial, Chemical, Materials or similar)
- 5+ years of experience in industrial R&D;, preferably in rubber or elastomer products
- Proven experience managing technical teams and projects
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and testing
- Leadership, analytical mindset and business orientation
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
- Awareness and commitment to Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental principles
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and agendas simultaneously
- Strong team leadership, team building and facilitation skills
- Fluent in Spanish and English
